Chadarnook

Compromises abound while painting this. Colors were used in place of others, I learned the do's and don't's of mixing acrylics, and I was boned from square one with a smooshed pixel grid (wah wah wah).

This was what it looks like: an intricate (if sloppy) paint-by-numbers. It may not look like much at this scale, and I was kind of disappointed in it to be honest, but when I saw the thumbnail for this next to the sprite from Final Fantasy 6, they were very similar, so my own success was hidden from me!

This is my second "painting of a painting from inside a SNES game," this one a commission by FF6's Relm Arrowny. The demon on the left, Chadarnook, is seizing the lady on the right, and the party is forced to fight back the evil half of the painting while Relm applies the finishing touches. I decided to paint in both of Chadarnook's red eyes instead of the original's one because the painting as a whole is so darn abstract at this scale.

This took a long time to paint and wasn't all that fun, but like before, I learned a lot and am just as hyped for what will come next.
